About Deborah

For many years, I worked in a variety of global senior roles working for multinational  IT companies. Wanting a more life/work balance, I retrained to be a sports massage therapist at the renowned London School of Sports massage (LSSM). After completing my training, I worked for Dr Lady Ann Redgrave at her clinic where I treated clients from a variety of backgrounds with different conditions and injuries. Clients included people suffering from back and neck pain, to sportspeople especially from the world of rowing and rugby.
Realising that sports massage was part of the solution to a client’s problems I then trained as a Pilates teacher with Alan Herdman. Alan brought Pilates to the UK in 1971 and is considered to be the founder of Pilates in the UK. Following my year of training I then opened my home studio offering Pilates using the reformer, trapeze table, Wunda chair and other small equipment.

In 2021, I moved with my family to Newent, Gloucestrshire and I finally realised my dream and opened Newent Pilates studio in October 2021.
I have over 15 years of experience and combine equipment and mat work Pilates with a variety of techniques such as sports massage and myofascial release to help clients improve their posture, balance, flexibility and build core stability. I attended courses every year and in November 2022, I qualified as a Pink Ribbon Breast cancer exercise specialist. I have an interest in women's health and am qualified as a menopause and osteoporosis pilates specialist.   Please get in touch if you wish to find out more about Pilates and how  I can help you achieve your health and fitness goals.
